The Freedom Story
Introduction
As we look back in history, we are reminded of the staggering changes made by women, for women...changes in the workplace, family life, religion,
in government, in education...the simple right to choose....
We are also reminded of a freedom that is so basic,
we often forget it exists:
The freedom to simply be who you are...
To begin:
Freedom
Woman falls in love with man; man responds and they marry.
One day woman comes to man and says,
‘Just tell me what you want me to be and I will be it. Just tell me what you want me to do and I will do it. I love you so much.’
Man says,
‘My dear, I do not want to tell you what to be or what to do. I love you as you are.’
‘Oh please,’ she begs and she begs.
He thinks and he contemplates,
‘I want her to be happy so I will tell her what I want
and what to do and she will be happy.’
And life goes on.
Then one day, woman comes to husband with such joy in her heart and her eyes and says,
‘I figured out who I am!
I don’t want you to tell me who I am
or what you want me to be or what you want me to do.
I know who I am.’
Man feels shaken. He’s grown comfortable. He has responded to her wish.
She changes her mind and he feels fragile.
He says,
‘I don’t want things to change I like things the way they are.’
And she says,
‘Oh well, I’m very comfortable so why change now?’
and she goes on about her business.
Pretty soon she grows into resentment and man says,
‘Something is different...you’re not here anymore.’
The woman says, ‘I am here...what do you mean?’
‘Your body is here you are not here.’
He grows insecure. He knows he’s grown plump...not as exciting as he once was.
So he focuses on his power over her...makes demands of her.
And she locks herself away.
The man grows content again and starts to feel good about him self...he’s strong.
He provides well and thinks he’s accomplished a great deal.
His wife looks happy though he’s noticed something has changed.
Then the man dies, the children are grown and gone away.
And the woman says,
‘Oh, this is the day that freedom was sent!’
And she walks out into the street, meets another woman and says,
‘This is the day that freedom was sent.’
The other woman says, ‘What are talking about? Are you daft?’
The woman says ‘NO!’ and shares her story.
And the other woman says, ‘You’re crazy.’
And there she stands again, alone. She looks up at the sky and says,
‘This is the day that freedom was sent.
God tell me what you want me to be.
Tell me who I am.
Tell me what is right and I will do it.’
And she loses herself again.
Rather than embracing the moment, she gave it all up by asking the question.
Even with her husband, she found the moment
then lost it because she locked herself away.
The moral of the story is everyone wants you to be who you are.
Really, they do.
And who can define that but you?
The most widely asked question is
‘Who am I? Tell me what my purpose is and I will do it.’
People become enslaved to counsel.
Many leave traditional religions and traditional schools of thought
only to be confined again.
So, this day I would ask for you to find your freedom and claim it.
Find and connect with your purpose in the purity, the raw purity of
who you know yourself to be in any given moment.
And that is defined in the moment by you.

Unfortunately, FEAR takes over most human beings
They do not know what freedom is.
They cry for it, and when it comes to them,
they give it away in an instant.
So today, this honorable day,
I ask you
to
fly into the freedom
of
who you know yourself to be....
and
claim you.
Thank you.
